But you can call her Gabi. She’s a full-time Director of Social Media at a public relations firm in Boston, Massachusetts. Outside of her work in social media, she’s also a life(style) blogger! She’s passionate about making entertaining a breeze, as well as helping other bloggers navigate the world of...well, blogging!
Gabi started writing six years ago, but launched an entirely new blog (By Gabriella) last summer. She always enjoyed playing hostess, and when she realized that others were a little hesitant to entertain at home, she realized she could share some of her favorite tips to ease the stress, like how to build an easy cheese board, or make a simple (yet impressive!) cocktail.
During her time away from the computer, she also serves as a volunteer advisor with the Sigma Kappa Sorority and as a City Manager of the women's networking group, BOS Lady Project.
Is it totally cliché that my favorite childhood meal was mac 'n cheese? I'm sure I had tons of favorite meals growing up, but my favorite has always been the good old classic mac 'n cheese. There's something so special about those cheesy noodles. In fact, I even make a 'grown up' mac 'n cheese in the cooler months. It's okay to still love it if it's a sophisticated version, right?
You're sure to find a few essentials in my bag at all times. If you take a peek, you'll see I always carry around a book, my planner, a bold lip color, my wallet (of course), and my two phones. Working in social media means having two phones is a necessity! My kitchen essentials include a sturdy duo of whisks, a set of Everyday Napkins, and a bar cart fully stocked with barware and tasty ingredients. I whip up too many cocktails not to have the necessary instruments on hand! A good shaker is a must, by the way.
I'd have to say the weirdest (for me) was trying a chicken heart in Brazil. It's a delicacy there, and I'm up for trying almost anything - so I went for it! To be honest, it takes like....chicken.....but a smidge chewier. Not necessarily my cup of tea, but I'm glad I gave it a go. They say you only live once, right?
I'd have to say finishing up my master's degree while also working full-time. Doing two things at once, full-time, is hard stuff! But I powered through for a year and a half and I've never been more proud of myself.
My dream kitchen is clean, mostly white, and has a few pops of color and copper. It boasts ample space, a large island where my family and friends can congregate around while we cook, and a proper bar area. It's simple, elegant, and modern.
waking up early to chilly fall day, with time in the morning for iced chai and to enjoy a good book.
an old fashioned (blood orange, to be exact).
pizza! I could eat it endlessly.
fly because traveling would be so affordable and accessible!
Oh my, so many to choose from! Mexican is my favorite kind of food, so I'd have to say one of my favorites is the Lime Chicken Tacos with Tomatillo Salsa. And for cocktails? The Grapefruit Bourbon Cocktail with Basil Syrup is my favorite cocktail yet. Ready for dessert? Try the adorable Grand Marnier Truffles!
Push yourself, and know your limits. Put yourself into situations that make you a little nervous, but not uncomfortable. Say yes whenever you can, and know when to say no. Take on as many projects as you can to gain experience, without burning out. It's important to challenge yourself when starting something new!
