Step 1
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C (350 degrees F).
Step 2
In the bowl of a stand-mixer, cream
Unsalted Butter (225 g)
and
Granulated Sugar (200 g)
until pale and smooth, about 3 minutes.
Step 3
Add the
Egg (1)
and
Vanilla Extract (5 mL)
and beat until fully incorporated.
Step 4
Add the
Baking Powder (7 g)
,
Salt (2 g)
and
All-Purpose Flour (375 g)
and mix on a medium-low speed until the mixture forms a dough.
Step 5
Turn the dough out on to a lightly-floured surface knead the dough by hand for about a minute.
Step 6
Roll the dough out to about a 1/4 inch thick and begin cutting cookies.
Step 7
Place the cookies on a lined baking tray and bake for 6-8 minutes.
Step 8
Let the Vanilla Sugar Cookies cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack. Cool completely before decorating or eat as is. Serve and enjoy!
