Step 1
Heat
Almond Milk (240 mL)
and
Butter (45 g)
in a saucepan until lukewarm (not boiling!), or heat in the microwave in thirty-second intervals. In a large bowl, dissolve
Instant Dry Yeast (5 g)
into milk mixture, then stir in
Caster Sugar (10 g)
,
Salt (2 g)
and zest from
Orange (1)
.
Step 2
Stir two cups of
All-Purpose Flour (310 g)
into the milk mixture, then add more flour, a heaping tablespoon at a time, until dough forms a loose ball (it should be moist, but not so sticky that it sticks to your finger if you poke it). Transfer dough to a clean, floured surface and knead for about a minute, until you have a smooth ball.
