Cooking Instructions

Step 1
Toast Black Sesame Seeds (140 g) in a pan or oven and then ground them into powder. Smaller particles can be accepted for the filling.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix black sesame powder with Salt (2 g) and Powdered Confectioners Sugar (110 g) .
Step 3
Pour Unsalted Butter (150 g) and mix well. Place in fridge for 1 hour until slightly hardened.
Step 4
Place the Sweet Glutinous Rice Flour (300 g) into a large bowl, add Water (60 mL) in the center and wait for 10 minutes. Then pour in the Water (180 mL) .
Step 5
Grasp to form a dough and keep kneading for a couple of minutes until smooth; shape the dough into a long log so that you can make similar pieces in the following step.
Step 6
Take one piece and shape it into a bowl, then scoop around 1/2-1 Tbsp of toasted black sesame filling into the center. Seal the rice dumpling completely and make it as round as possible.
Step 7
Put them in a large pot with water to cover them. Bring to a boil, and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes after the tang yuans have floated to the surface.
Step 8
Scoop out together with the cooking liquid and serve with sugar, sweet osmanthus or syrup.
