This baby-friendly veggie burger is a nutritional powerhouse that your whole family will love. The burgers pack iron from the black beans along with vitamin C from the sweet potatoes to help your baby’s body absorb the iron. The dipping sauce helps moisten the burgers as dry foods can pose a choking hazard.

Author's Notes

You can freeze extra patties for future use.

To make the recipe vegan: for the egg in burgers substitute 1 Tbsp chia seed + 3 Tbsp water, stir to combine and let sit for 10 minutes before adding to ingredients. Use vegan mayo in the dipping sauce.

step 1
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine Mayonnaise (115 g), Garlic (2 cloves), the juice from Lemon (1), and Ground Black Pepper (1/2 tsp). Whisk until combined.

Using your hands, form burger mixture into balls about the size of a golf ball. Press to flatten into patties and place patties on wax paper until ready to fry.
step 5
In a large frying pan, heat Avocado Oil (120 mL) over medium-high heat. When oil is shimmering, add the patties. Cook for 5 minutes on each side or until brown on the outside.
