Plums

Rich in antioxidants, a good source of fiber, and studies have shown consuming plums can help promote heart and bone health. This fruit is good for you and so easy to cook with. Plums work well for both desserts and savory dishes.

While different varieties have been available since May, September is time to look for the Italian prune plum specifically.

Apples

Olive and Artisan

Sweet, savory, snackable - a truly underrated culinary sidekick (eh-hem, Side-Chef!), carrots also have a low glycemic index (GI), which means they don’t cause a large spike in blood sugar when you eat them - no rushes, no crashes post eating!

A member of the carrot-plant family, the crunchy bulb and aromatic seeds of fennel are both highly nutritious. Introducing fennel into your diet regularly may improve heart health, reduce inflammation, and even provide anticancer effects! Need we say more? The delicious vegetable is great shaved into salads or used to flavor soups and braises.

Green Beans
