GEHE ZUM BLOG

With children spending more time at home and the lines between work- and home-life blurred, being a working mom has never been as hard and fulfilling at the same time. This is why for this month’s recipe roundup, we are featuring the amazing working moms in our Partner Network and sharing their tips to other moms trying to find balance between motherhood and work.

If you had one superpower or tip to share with another mother currently struggling to balance life and work, what would it be? And why?

BEING GRACIOUS

My superpower is GRACE! Give yourself grace to not be everything all at once. Know when to ask for help and prioritize what REALLY matters most. COVID has forced us to prioritize better than ever before and work more efficiently. I've learned to delegate and set realistic expectations of myself.

-Elaine Gordon, Eating by Elaine

Try Elaine’s healthy and kid-friendly recipe for Instant Vegan Chocolate Mousse below.

LETTING IT GO

Don't sweat the small stuff! Be okay with letting things go. Designate your priorities each day and focus on getting those done. Everything else can wait!

-Robin Deem, CaliGirl Cooking

MULTITASKING

Being able to multitask! As a single mom, it's important for me to be able to do several things at once. Cook dinner and post to social media and help my little one with homework? Got it.

-Jessica Hughes, Happily Hughes

Looking to spend more time with your children and less time on the stove? Jessica’s Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce has got you covered.

BEING POSITIVELY PREDICTABLE

Planning my weekly meals and using the same format has freed me from a lot of stress. My Monday plan, for example, is breakfast: oatmeal, lunch: tuna, dinner: chicken. I keep it the same every week and only change the recipe each time. On one Monday I can do mustard chicken, and do chicken in creamy jalapeño sauce or fajitas the following Mondays. That way, I simplify what’s in my pantry. By taking 20 minutes to plan the meals for the whole week, you’ll save yourself from multiple trips to the supermarket and stress of thinking, “what should I cook for today?”

-Laura Muller, Las Recetas de Laura
