Garlic and Herb Bread

This isn’t an ordinary garlic bread. It's everything and more! The pesto in this recipe can also be added to pasta, grilled cheese, soup, risotto and baked potatoes.

Garlic

Fresh Rosemary

or Fresh Thyme

2 Tbsp

Fresh Basil

or Fresh Chives

2 cups

Kale

or Spinach, Arugula, Chard, Mizuna, Bok Choy, Peas

1 cup

Assorted Nuts

or Walnuts, Almonds, Hazelnuts

•

2 cups

Cheese

or Parmesan, Breadcrumbs and Capers, Goat, Feta, Cream Cheese, Ricotta

4 Tbsp

Olive Oil

•

Lemon , zested, freshly squeezed

•

to taste

Salt

Cayenne Pepper

1 loaf

Bread , sliced

Cooking Instructions

Put Garlic (8 cloves) , Fresh Rosemary (2 tsp) , Fresh Basil (2 Tbsp) , Kale (2 cups) , Assorted Nuts (1 cup) , crumbled or grated Cheese (2 cups) , Olive Oil (4 Tbsp) , zest and juice from Lemon (1) ), Salt (to taste) , and Cayenne Pepper (to taste) in a food processor.

Blend for 20-40 seconds, scrape down the sides and blend for about 10 seconds more. Taste for seasoning.

Spread mixture on bread. Either broil for 2-5 minutes (watch it carefully so it doesn't burn), bake until bubbly and browned, or put between the Bread (1 loaf) , wrap in foil, and bake until warmed through.
