Step 1
Lightly grease and line the sides of the baking tin and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Step 2
Blitz the Quick Cooking Oats (175 g) in a food processor until it almost becomes a fine flour.
Step 3
Tip into a large bowl and mix with the remaining Quick Cooking Oats (115 g) . Mix in the Ground Cinnamon (5 g) , Dried Apples (150 g) , and Salt (2 g) , and then set to one side.
Step 4
In a medium saucepan, gently melt together the Brown Sugar (100 g) , Unsalted Butter (115 g) , and Golden Syrup (60 mL) over a medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, then remove from the heat.
Step 5
Whisk in the Non-Fat Milk (60 mL) and Vanilla Extract (5 mL) .
Step 6
Pour the mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well with a spoon or spatula until all the oats are evenly coated and there are no dry patches left.
Step 7
Tip it all into the prepared tin and press very firmly with the back of a metal spoon. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the edges have started to turn golden.
Step 8
Allow to cool completely in the tin before removing & slicing into 9 pieces. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
