Step 1
Prepare the sauce by combining
Water (180 mL)

Soy Sauce (60 mL)
,
Distilled White Vinegar (30 mL)
, and
Granulated Sugar (8 g)
. Set aside.
Step 2
Heat the
Olive Oil (15 mL)
in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Step 3
Add the
Chicken Drumsticks (8 pieces)
to the pan, searing both sides of the chicken until golden brown on the surface.
Step 4
Add the
Garlic (5 cloves)
,
Bay Leaves (4)
, and
Black Peppercorns (9 g)
to the pan.
Step 5
Stir in the sauce, then turn the heat down to low.
Step 6
Allow to simmer for about 5 minutes or until the chicken has cooked all the way through, adding more water if necessary to keep the sauce simmering.
