Step 1
Pour
Guinness® Stout Beer (355 mL)
into a medium saucepan and heat to boiling. Reduce heat to a rapid simmer and cook until the stout is reduced by half.
Step 2
Stir in the
Brown Sugar (165 g)
and
Vanilla Extract (5 mL)
. Heat to boiling, reduce heat to a rapid simmer and let the mixture cook 8-10 minutes without stirring until sauce turns a deep amber and bubbles start to grow and expand.
Step 3
Remove from heat and add the
Unsalted Butter (30 g)
,
Heavy Cream (240 mL)
and
Salt (2 g)
and stir carefully until fully combined.
Step 4
Transfer to a resealable glass storage jar and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
Step 5
As an option, spoon over ice cream and/or pound cake.
