I based this recipe off my Cranberry Ginger Scones. I really love the texture the quick oats give the scones, and how the brushed on milk gives it a nice golden color. Don't forget that decadent maple glaze!

Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Step 2
In a stand mixer, mix All-Purpose Flour (250 g) , Brown Sugar (75 g) , Baking Powder (7 g) , Quick Cooking Oats (80 g) , Chopped Pecans (55 g) , Ground Cinnamon (3 g) , and White Chocolate Chips (85 g) .
Step 3
Cut up the Butter (90 g) and add to the flour mixture. Mix on low speed for one minute.
Step 4
In a small bowl, mix Egg (1) and Milk (120 mL) until combined and add to the flour mixture. Then add the Pure Maple Syrup (80 mL) , and mix on low speed until fully incorporated. The batter will be a dough-like consistency.
Step 5
With a large scoop, place dough onto a greased cookie sheet. Do not flatten. Brush the tops and sides of each scone with Milk (30 mL) and then sprinkle with Granulated Sugar (4 g) .
Step 6
Bake for 13-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
Step 7
Remove from oven and carefully place scones on cooling rack with wax paper underneath. Scones will be extra hot due to the sugar.
Step 8
In a small bowl, whisk together Powdered Confectioners Sugar (110 g) , Milk (30 mL) , and Maple Extract (5 mL) until smooth.
Step 9
Using the whisk, drizzle the scones with as much or as little glaze as you prefer.
Step 10
Grab a cup of coffee. Dunk, eat, and enjoy!
