San Francisco, October 16, 2019 -- SideChef, the five-year old mobile cooking app startup, won the top prize at the Ascent Conference’s pitch competition in New York City. The two-day long technology conference convened founders, CEOs, and investors from all over the globe to collaborate and build relationships to accelerate innovation.
The process began with 200 startups who were given the opportunity to demo their products in the exhibition hall. SideChef was invited to the pitch portion of the conference along with 75 other startups. SideChef SVP of Operations, Cadence Hardenbergh, led SideChef to victory on day 1 competing against a group of 10 startups, qualifying SideChef for the finals on Day 2.
Alongside 11 other finalists, Hardenbergh had the opportunity to pitch an audience of 500 tech industry professionals on day 2, sharing the SideChef story, current impact on the industry, and the grand vision for the future in a 3-minute pitch followed by 2 minutes of questions from the audience and judges. The judges consisted of executives from various organizations and venture capital firms.
“The startup community at Ascent Conference was impressive and it was awesome to hear from fellow founders about their progress, hard work, and visions,” said Hardenbergh. “It was an honor to secure 1st place amongst so many innovative startups. The judges clearly grasped the significance of the ecosystem we are building and its potential impact as the all-in-one home cooking platform. Who doesn’t need a little help getting dinner on the table?”
SideChef was awarded an Oracle cloud credit of $5,000 as well as a one-on-one coaching session with Netsuite with a guarantee of 1 investor meeting.
