Gnocchi Pomodoro

You will love this simple and rich Gnocchi Pomodoro recipe. The thick Pomodoro sauce is easy to make and goes so well with the soft, squidgy gnocchi. Finished with parmesan cheese this dish will become a new favorite to serve your friends and family!

Ingredients

1 pound of Gnocchi
Cooked
2 cups of Whole Pealed Tomatoes
Chopped
3 cloves of Garlic
Minced
1/2 cup of Grated Parmesan Cheese
Add extra for serving
1/4 cup of Roughly Chopped Fresh Basil Leaves
Add extra for serving
1 tsp of Granulated Sugar
1/2 of tsp of Salt
1/4 tsp of Ground Black Pepper
with 1/2 the liquid
1 Tbsp of Vegetable Oil
with 1/2 the liquid
6 cups of Water

Instructions

Step 1

In the skillet, heat the  Vegetable Oil (1 Tbsp)  over medium heat. Once hot, add the  Garlic (3 cloves)  and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 2

Add the  Whole Peeled Tomatoes (395 g) ,  Fresh Basil Leaves (5 g) ,  Salt (3 g) ,  Ground Black Pepper (as needed) , and  Granulated Sugar (4 g) . Cook for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Once tomatoes become soft, use a wooden spoon to crush and break them down into small pieces. Let the sauce simmer over low heat for 10 more minutes until the sauce is ready.

Step 4

In the pot with boiling  Water (1.4 L) , stir in 1 tsp of  Salt (6 g) . Then add the  Gnocchi (455 g)  and cook according to the package instructions. The gnocchi is ready when it floats to the top.

Step 5

Use a slotted spoon to transfer gnocchi to the sauce. Add  Grated Parmesan Cheese (50 g) . Gently toss the gnocchi in the sauce.

Step 6

Serve on the plate with more parmesan cheese on top. Garnish with basil leaves.
