Step 1
Open bag of
Frozen Tater Tots (1 pckg)
. Lay them on a baking sheet and let them thaw for about thirty minutes or until only partially frozen.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Step 3
In a large bowl, mix
Buttermilk (480 mL)
,
Egg (1)
,
Tabasco® Original Red Pepper Sauce (5 mL)
,
Salt (to taste)
, and
Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
. Place
Boneless, Skinless Chicken Thighs (680 g)
into the bowl and let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 4
In another bowl, combine
All-Purpose Flour (310 g)
,
Cayenne Pepper (as needed)
,
Salt (to taste)
, and
Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
.
Step 5
Add the
Vegetable Oil (45 mL)
to a 10-inch cast iron skillet. Heat to medium-high. Take a chicken and dredge it into the flour shaking off any extras. Place chicken in skillet and repeat. Cook chicken for about 5 minutes on first side.
Step 6
Flip and place skillet into the oven for about 10 to 12 minutes. Once cooked, remove skillet from oven and let cook slightly.
Step 7
Heat a waffle iron. Place about 15 to 20 tots evenly onto the waffle iron. Slowly press down on the tots until flattened. Cook tots for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 8
Once cooked, remove from waffle iron and sprinkle with salt. Repeat process until all tots have been used.
Step 9
To serve, place two waffle-tot squares on a plate. Top with a piece of chicken or slice in half. Garnish with
Honey (to taste)
