Author's Notes

You can have different fillings for the buns, lotus paste, custard, or whatever you like. They are so easy to make and keep well in the freezer. Whenever you need these lovely buns, just steam to reheat it, it will become soft again.

Cooking Instructions

Step 1
Divide the Red Bean Paste (250 g) into 8 pieces, roll into balls.
Step 2
Mix Instant Dry Yeast (4 g) , Granulated Sugar (20 g) , and Milk (100 mL) together, let it rest for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Add the yeast mixture into the All-Purpose Flour (180 g) , mix and form a dough.
Step 4
Knead the dough for about 8 minutes until the surface is smooth. Cover with cling film or kitchen towel, let it rest for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Divide the dough into 8 pieces, press it to form a dish. Add in red bean paste filling, seal it and roll a ball.
Step 6
Place the dough on the parchment paper and put in a steamer. Cover the lid and let it rest for 30 minutes. The dough will grow bigger.
Step 7
Steam at high heat for about 12 minutes, turn off the heat and wait for 3 minutes to take the buns out. Serve and enjoy!
