Step 1
First things first, soak the
Basmati Rice (100 g)
and
Split Mung Beans (100 g)
in filtered water for 30 minutes. Then rinse until water runs clear.
Step 2
In a saucepan melt the
Ghee (15 g)
, add the
Ground Turmeric (as needed)
,
Fennel Seeds (as needed)
,
Cumin Seeds (as needed)
, and toast them on low heat until fragrant, a couple of minutes.
Step 3
Add in mung beans, rice,
Water (1.1 L)
,
Fresh Ginger (2 cm)
,
Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
, and
Salt (6 g)
. Cover with a lid, and let simmer for about 30 minutes. If too thick, add more water for a thinner texture.
Step 4
Serve it up and enjoy!
