Step 1
Heat
Water (120 mL)
and
Milk (60 mL)
between 105 - 115 degrees F (40 - 46 degrees C).
Step 2
Combine milk, water,
Granulated Sugar (35 g)
, and
Instant Dry Yeast (1 pckg)
. Allow yeast to proof (5 minutes).
Step 3
Add
Egg (1)
,
Butter (35 g)
, and
All-Purpose Flour (345 g)
to the yeast mixture. Mix together. Dough should clean itself from the side of the bowl.
Step 4
Turn dough out onto floured surface. Knead for 3-4 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic.
Step 5
Cover dough and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Step 6
For the filling, combine the zest from
Lemons (2)
,
Granulated Sugar (150 g)
,
Butter (60 g)
and
Vanilla Extract (2 mL)
.
Step 7
After dough has rested, roll dough into a rectangle.
Step 8
Spread butter over dough, then spread with filling.
Step 9
Roll dough tightly lengthwise. Cut into 12 pieces.
Step 10
Take each piece and press the center with a straw or clean pencil.
Step 11
Place rolls on a lined or greased baking sheet. Allow to rise for 1 hour.
Step 12
Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 25-30 minutes.
Step 13
For the glaze, mix together Lemon Juice and
Powdered Confectioners Sugar (110 g)
. Drizzle the glaze over the rolls.
