Cooking Instructions

Cut the Boneless Ribeye Steak (1 lb) into super-thin slices, then put the beef slices in a bowl.

Add Light Soy Sauce (3 Tbsp), Sesame Oil (2 Tbsp), Brown Sugar (2 Tbsp), Asian Pears (2 Tbsp), Fresh Ginger (1 tsp), and Ground Black Pepper (1 dash) to the beef. Mix thoroughly, then cover the bowl with plastic wrap.

Allow the beef to marinate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight in the fridge. Take the marinated beef out of the fridge about 30 minutes prior to cooking.

Heat a cast-iron skillet (or a wok) over high heat. Pour Cooking Oil (2 Tbsp) into the skillet, then add Onion (1). Saute the onions for about 2 minutes or until slightly soft. Remove from the skillet and set them aside.

Add the beef to the skillet in small batches, in single layers at a time. Sear for 1 minute on each side. Add more cooking oil in between each batch if needed.
6.
Return all of the beef and the onions to the skillet. Give the dish a quick stir, then transfer to a serving dish.
7.
Garnish with Scallions (as needed) and White Sesame Seeds (as needed), then serve with White Rice (as needed) and kimchi if desired. Enjoy!
Author's Notes
Freeze the beef for 30 minutes to 1 hour before slicing to make it easier (and safer) to cut into.
Instead of marinating the beef in the bowl, you may also use a large Ziploc bag.
In place of grated Asian pear, you may use grated red apple or applesauce. Use a fine grater to grate the pear or apple.
