Around this time of year my cheat day drink of choice is a chai tea latte. Something about that slightly spicy taste that’s settled by creamy frothy milk just gets me. So here’s the deal. It’s very easy to make, and I’m betting you have most if not all of the ingredients in your cupboard as we speak.

Water (2 1/2 cups)
Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup)
Matcha Powder (1/2 Tbsp)
Fresh Ginger (1 tsp)
Ground Nutmeg (1 tsp)
Whole Cloves (1/2 tsp)
Ground Cardamom (1/2 tsp)
Cinnamon Stick (1)
in a small sauce pan and mix together. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Simmer together for 10 minutes and the remove from the heat to cool.
Use about 1/2 cup matcha chai mixture to each 1/3 cup of the
Whole Milk (2 cups)
for each latte. Froth if desired. Add more or less milk to taste.
Sprinkle top with a pinch of matcha.
