Cooking Instructions

Heat Vegetable Oil (2 Tbsp) in a heavy-based deep saucepan over a moderate heat. Add Garlic (2 cloves) and fry until golden brown. Remove, drain on paper towel and leave aside but keep the oil!

Add Onion (1). Cook and stir for 5 minutes, or until soft.

Add Fresh Ginger (1 Tbsp) and Ground Turmeric (1 tsp). Cook and stir for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.

Add Chickpeas (2 cans), Brown Lentils (2 cups), Water (1 1/2 cups), and Chicken Stock Cube (1). Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the chickpeas have broken down slightly.
5.
Serve Dhal topped with crispy garlic, Red Chili Pepper (1), and Fresh Cilantro (to taste). Enjoy!
