This is a recipe for a custard-y, yummy bread pudding that my great grandma often made. I grew up having this bread pudding, so it is a nice comfort food for me.

Put 2 cups of water into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Grease an 8 x 8 inch pan with cooking spray. Add bread to the milk. Stir, and let bread soak for a few minutes.
3.
Add Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup), Butter (1 Tbsp), Salt (as needed), and Vanilla Extract (1 tsp). Mix well. Let cool a bit, and add the eggs. Stir to combine.
4.
Pour mixture into the 8 x 8 inch pan, and bake for 1 hour.
