Cooking Instructions
1.
Preheat oven to 390 degrees F (195 degrees C).
2.
Roughly chop the Onion (1) and Green Bell Pepper (1). Thinly slice the Boneless Ribeye Steak (1 lb) on the diagonal.
3.
Heat 3/4 of the Olive Oil (3 Tbsp) in the pan until smoking hot. Start off by frying the beef until browned for 5-8 minutes. Season with Steak Seasoning (2 tsp). Do not overcook.
4.
Move to one side and fry the onions and peppers until caramelized. Season with Coarse Sea Salt (to taste) and Freshly Ground Black Pepper (to taste).
5.
Mix beef, peppers and onions together. Season once more to taste.
6.
Slice the Dinner Rolls (12) open to create one base and top. Heat some more oil in the hot pan. Lightly toast the insides of both pieces. Place onto a baking tray.
7.
Spread toasted base with Smoky BBQ Sauce (1/2 cup). Feel free to spread sauce on the inside of the top piece too. Top generously with Philly beef mixture.
8.
Arrange Provolone Cheese (12 slices) on top of the beef.
9.
Cover with top piece of bread and bake for 5–8 minutes or until cheese is melted and oozing and the bread is crispy on the outside.
10.
Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce and optional processed cheese sauce.
Author's Notes
Yields 4-6 servings.
No judgment if you want to add some processed cheese sauce to this beauty! Philly cheese is a very personal thing, you do you.
Tip: To make it extra delicious, brush the tops of the buns with melted garlic butter before baking.
Make it a feast by serving it up with crispy fries and a simple cos lettuce salad.
