Step 1
Remove the core out of all the
Sorrel Flowers (19 1/2 cups)
and discard.
Step 2
Place the sorrel flowers,
Dried Orange Peel (2 pieces)
,
Cinnamon Stick (1)
,
Whole Cloves (4)
and
Fresh Ginger (1 slice)
in a large pot.
Step 3
Cover with
Water (8 cups)
and bring to a boil.
Step 4
Reduce to a gentle simmer and let it go for about 30 minutes.
Step 5
Then remove off the heat, cover and let it steep for a few hours. Steep overnight for maximum flavor.
Step 6
Strain and discard ingredients.
Step 7
Chill and sweeten to your liking with
Granulated Sugar (to taste)
.
Step 8
Remember to add some crushed ice and sliced limes or lemons when serving!
