Add the Water (1 Tbsp) and Corn Starch (1 Tbsp) to a small bowl and mix until they are well combined.

Add Distilled White Vinegar (1/2 cup), Water (4 Tbsp), Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup), Garlic (3 cloves), Salt (1 tsp) and Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (as needed) into a saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium high heat, and don’t stir.
