For the prickly pear syrup, scoop the flesh out of the
Prickly Pears (2)
and roughly chop it. Combine it with the
Water (1 1/2 cups)
Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup)
in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes. Strain out solids.
To salt the glasses, prepare one plate with a bit of water, and another plate with a handful of
Salt (to taste)
. Dip the glass in water plate, then dip the glass on the salt plate.
Slice 1/4 inch off of each end of the
and cut it in half, lengthwise. Set one of the halves cut side-down on the cutting board, slice it at an angle, lengthwise to make lime wedges and set aside.
For each drink, combine 1 oz of the prickly pear syrup, plus the juice from
Limes (1 1/2)
PATRÓN® Silver Tequila (2 fl oz)
Cointreau (0.5 fl oz)
in a cocktail shaker. Add a scoop of
Ice (1 handful)
and shake for 10 seconds. Serve over ice with extra Lime Wedge and
Fresh Mint (1 sprig)
