This is a nice change from your usual grilled cheese. It's made with mayo on the outside for perfectly browned and crispy bread on the outside yet it was tender soft on the inside.

Sandwich Bread

Mayonnaise

Tbsp
Unsalted Butter
•

American Cheese Slices
or Cheddar Cheese

to taste
Ground Black Pepper
Cooking Instructions
1.
Place Sandwich Bread (2 slices) on a cutting board and spread Mayonnaise (2 Tbsp) over top side of each.
2.
Heat a small non-stick skillet over medium. Slide in half of Unsalted Butter (2 tsp)
3.
When it melts, place 1 slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, in skillet. Top with American Cheese Slices (4) and season with Ground Black Pepper (to taste).

Top with second slice of bread, mayonnaise side up.
5.
When underside is golden brown, about 4 minutes, turn sandwich and add remaining Unsalted Butter (2 tsp) to skillet. Press down on sandwich to encourage even browning and to help melt cheese. Cook until second side is golden brown and cheese is melted.
6.
Eat immediately. Enjoy!
