step 1
Measure out the quantity of popcorn you’d like to make. A little goes a long way…1/4 cup of Popcorn Kernels (4 Tbsp) will yield about 5 cups of popcorn.

Place the pot on the stove over medium heat, making sure the lid is nearby. As the pot heats up, shake the pot back and forth over the burner every 15-20 seconds.

step 4
The oil will begin to sizzle lightly around the edges of the kernels. Once the first couple of kernels pop, quickly place the lid on the pot. Continue to shake back and forth until about the popping frequency reduces to 1-2 seconds.

step 5
Remove the popcorn from the heat and continue to shake for a few seconds before removing the lid so that no rogue kernels pop out in your face. Pour the popcorn into a large bowl.

step 6
Now it’s time to season and flavor these puffy little kernels! They are tasty on their own, but the possibilities for flavoring popcorn are endless. Here I used a few Tbsp of Butter (to taste) and Salt (to taste). Season with a light hand and taste often!
