Classic Fluffy Mashed Potatoes

There's nothing more comforting than a mouthful of creamy mashed potatoes. Perfect as a side dish, or on their own! Our classic recipe has a secret ingredient that guarantees the fluffiest mash potatoes that definitely won't disappoint.


Serves 4

6 Ingredients

4 Potato

3 oz Salted Butter

3/4 cup Milk

1 tsp Baking Powder

to taste Salt

to taste Ground Black Pepper

Steps 1

Wash and peel Potato and cut into quarters. Place in a bowl of water and leave to soak for 20 minutes.

Steps 2

Drain potatoes and place in a large pot. Cover by about 3 inches with cold water. Add a generous sprinkle of salt. Bring to the boil and cook until potatoes are tender when poked with a fork, about 45 minutes.

Steps 3

When potatoes are done, drain in a colander in a sink.

Steps 4

While still hot, mash the potatoes with a potato masher or ricer.

Steps 5

Heat the Milk and Salted Butter in a saucepan over a medium heat, until butter is melted.

Sprinkle the Baking Powder over the mashed potatoes.

Steps 7

Pour the hot milk and butter mixture over the mashed potatoes.

Steps 8

Mix until combined.

Season with Salt and Ground Black Pepper.
