In a heavy bottom sauce pan over high heat, add Granulated Sugar (1 cup) and Water (1/3 cup). Swirl the pan until the Granulated Sugar and Water are mixed together. Allow the sugar to dissolve.
Lower the heat to medium low and cook the mixture until it turns an amber (yellowish-orange) color. This could take up to 8 to 10 minutes.
Stir in Butter (1/4 cup) until melted.
Add Heavy Cream (1/2 cup) and stir until mixed.
Turn the heat off, add Salt (to taste) and whisk.
Transfer caramel sauce into a heat resistant container and allow to cool completely. Serve and enjoy!
