Margherita Pizza

This is an Italian classic pizza. The ingredients are simple and marry together beautifully. After eating countless American-style pizzas, I've grown fond of this style of pizza. Try to find the softest mozzarella you can and fresh basil leaves. I prefer a little prosciutto on my margherita, which brings a salty chew to the sweet marinara sauce.

Sear Nation
My name is Adam and my specialty is cooking at high temperatures. A grill is my favorite kitchen essential, followed by many other great tools. I am excited to bring a taste of Sear Nation to your very own table.

step 1
Start by preparing the dough and cheese ahead of time. If using pre-made refrigerated dough, bring dough out to sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. If you're making your own dough, account for the time it takes for the dough to rise.
step 2
Meanwhile, slice Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Ball (1 cup) into 1/4" slices. Refrigerate cheese until ready to put on pizza.
step 3
Preheat oven to 400 - 600 degrees F (200 - 315 degrees C).
step 4
Once Pizza Dough (1) is raised, shape into roughly a 10" pie. Use generous amounts of flour so the dough doesn't stick to the working surface.

step 5
Next is the toppings. Pour Pizza Sauce (1/2 cup) on the pizza and spread out evenly.
step 6
Top pizza with mozzarella slices. Add Prosciutto (1 slice) to the pizza. If the slices are larger, you can break into smaller pieces to better distribute over the pie. Add Fresh Basil Leaves (3) on top.

step 7
Drizzle Extra-Virgin Olive Oil (1 Tbsp) on top of the pizza toppings.

step 8
Bake on brick stone until cheese is melted and crust is at least brown, 3-15 minutes depending on the type of oven used. If using a pizza oven, you can let the crust get a little burnt for a more rustic finish.
