Step 1
In a saucepan over low heat, add
Vegetable Oil (1 Tbsp)
and
Onion (1)
. Season with
Onion Powder (1/2 tsp)
. Cook for 20 minutes, or until soft.
Step 2
Add
Brown Sugar (1 tsp)
and
Balsamic Vinegar (1 tsp)
. Cook for 10 minutes, until the onions become thick and jammy. Set aside.
Step 3
Shape
80/20 Lean Ground Beef (1 lb)
into three patties, thicker than the average McDonald's burger. Rub each side with some
Fresh Rosemary (1 sprig)
.
Step 4
In a mixing jug, add
Mayonnaise (1/4 cup)
,
Dijon Mustard (1 Tbsp)
, and
Garlic (1/2 tsp)
. Stir until just combined.
Step 5
Add
Ground Black Pepper (1/4 tsp)
. Mix again and set aside.
Step 6
In a bowl, add
Sweet Chili Sauce (1 Tbsp)
and
Spicy Garlic Tomato Chutney (1 Tbsp)
and mix well.
Step 7
In a pan over high heat with no oil, sear the patty for 4 minutes.
Step 8
Turn the heat down to medium. Season with
Salt (to taste)
and
Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
. Flip and place
Mature Cheddar Cheese (1 slice)
over the patty. Cook for another 4 minutes.
Step 9
Cook
Streaky Bacon (to taste)
until almost crispy.
Step 10
Lay out
Hamburger Buns (3)
. On the heel bun, place the chili sauce and tomato chutney mixture, grilled onions, the patty with cheese, bacon,
Tomatoes (to taste)
,
Beets (to taste)
, and
Lettuce (to taste)
. On the crown, spread mayonnaise.
