Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Step 2
In a stand mixer combine
All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
,
Milk (1 cup)
,
Baking Powder (1 Tbsp)
,
Vegetable Shortening (1/4 cup)
,
Ground Cinnamon (1 tsp)
, and
Salt (1 pinch)
. Mix on low until all incorporated and dough forms. Scrape sides of bowl as needed.
Step 3
With a large scoop, scoop dough into even balls and place in a 9x13-inch glass dish.
Step 4
Pour
Maple Syrup (2 cups)
over the balls of dough, then pour the
Water (1/2 cup)
over the syrup.
Step 5
Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the dough comes out clean.
Step 6
Serve with
Whipped Cream (to taste)
and enjoy!
