Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and set aside.
Step 2
In a large bowl, cream together the
Butter (1 stick)

Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup)
, and
Brown Sugar (1/2 cup)
, until smooth.
Step 3
Beat in the
Large Egg (1)
and
Vanilla Extract (1/2 Tbsp)
. Mix until well combined.
Step 4
Mix together
All-Purpose Flour (1 1/4 cups)
,
Baking Soda (1/2 tsp)
,
Baking Powder (1/2 tsp)
, and
Salt (1/2 tsp)
. Add to the butter mixture and beat until it forms a cookie dough. Stir in
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (1 1/4 cups)
.
Step 5
Onto ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2-inches apart.
Step 6
Bake for 11-12 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft).
Step 7
Cool for 2 minutes and remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.
Step 8
Cool completely, about 20 minutes. Store covered in airtight container.
