Author's Notes

To make gingerbread spice: Mix 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon, 1 tsp ground clove, ¼ tsp ground ginger, ¼ tsp ground allspice, 2 pinches of ground nutmeg, 2 pinches of ground cardamon.

Place the Milk (2 cups), Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (2 Tbsp), Coconut Sugar (4 Tbsp), and Gingerbread Spice (1 tsp) in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk constantly until warm but not boiling.

Add 72% Dark Chocolate (1/2 cup) and whisk constantly until the chocolate is melted and incorporated with the milk.

To each mug, pour in Spiced Rum (3 Tbsp) as well as hot chocolate. Stir and top with Whipped Cream (4 Tbsp).

Garnish the top with Gingerbread Cookies (2) and Cinnamon Sticks (2). Serve immediately.
