Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
In a mixing bowl, sift together
All-Purpose Flour (1 3/4 cups)
Salt (1/2 tsp)
Baking Powder (1 Tbsp)
Butter (1/3 cup)
. Use a fork to mash the butter into the dry ingredients. Use your hands to crumble them together until the mixture forms small, coarse crumbs.
Milk (3/4 cup)
. Stir until a dough is formed.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until dough is no longer sticky. Roll it out to 1/4-inch thick.
Cut out your biscuits.
Transfer biscuits to a baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.
Serve warm with butter and jam, alongside a hearty dinner, or smothered in gravy for a delicious breakfast.
