Peel, core and cut the
Butter (1/4 cup)
Granulated Sugar (1/4 cup)
in a pan and add the apple slices.
Little by little you'll see the butter and sugar will mix and start turning a golden color. This will start cooking the apple and make it soft and tender.
Once the apple is tender, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool. Place an apple slice in the center of the
Empanada Dough Shells (to taste)
and close. Use a fork to press down on the edges and create a seal.
In a pan add about an inch of
Sunflower Oil (as needed)
over medium heat. Once it's very hot, fry the empanadas until golden brown and crunchy.
As they are done, remove and place on a plate with paper towels to absorb the excess oil. Garnish with
Powdered Confectioners Sugar (to taste)
right before serving.
