Vegetable Pakoras

Pakoras are basically a vegetable fritter that has a very delicious chickpea batter base. This is a vegetarian/vegan treat that will make even the meat-lovers in your life happy.

Cauliflower , chopped

Green Cabbage , sliced

Potatoes , boiled, diced

Green Chili Peppers

Canola Oil

Chickpea Flour , sifted

1 cup

Water

Fresh Ginger , grated

3 cloves

Garlic , grated

Cumin Seeds

2 tsp

Chili Powder

1 tsp

Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

1/2 tsp

Ground Turmeric

Cooking Instructions

Grate the Fresh Ginger (1 in) and Garlic (3 cloves) into the bowl.

Add Chickpea Flour (2 cups) , Cumin Seeds (2 tsp) , Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (1 tsp) , Chili Powder (2 tsp) , Ground Turmeric (1/2 tsp) , and Salt (to taste) into the bowl.

Add Water (1 cup) and stir to create a thick batter, about the consistency of pancake batter.

Dice Potatoes (1 cup) and boil.

Chop Cauliflower (1 cup) .

Slice Onions (1 cup) .

Slice Green Cabbage (1 cup) .

Rough chop the Green Chili Peppers (2) .

Mix potato, cauliflower, onion, green cabbage, and green chili pepper in a large bowl.

Heat Canola Oil (as needed) for deep frying) to 375 degrees F (190 Degrees C). Drop small clumps of the batter/vegetable mixture into the oil and deep fry until golden brown.
