For the syrup, combine the Water (1/2 cup) and Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup) in a pan over medium heat. Once combined, add Fresh Basil Leaves (4) and let simmer for 5 minutes.

Combine the syrup, Bourbon (3 fl oz), the juice of Grapefruit (2) and Peychaud's Bitters (to taste) in a glass. Add ice and top with Club Soda (to taste). Stir.
