Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Wash, peel, core the
Apples (14 1/2 cups)
. Cut apples into 1-inch chunks.
Step 3
Cut the
Unsalted Butter (3 Tbsp)
into 1/4-inch chunks.
Step 4
Place the apples in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Scatter the
Brown Sugar (1/3 cup)
and chunks of butter evenly over top.
Step 5
Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, tossing once halfway through, until the apples are very tender.
Step 6
Mash the apples with a potato masher or fork. Taste the apples. If the applesauce is too tart, add more brown sugar little by little until the flavors are balanced
Step 7
Sprinkle some
Ground Cinnamon (to taste)
, and enjoy! The applesauce can be frozen in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
