Basil Walnut Pesto
A simple pesto with a kick of red pepper!
4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves
3 clove Garlic
1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano
1/2 cup Walnuts
1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1/2 cup Extra-Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 tsp Freshly Cracked Black Pepper
1 tsp Kosher Salt
To the bowl of a food processor or Vitamix blender, add Fresh Basil Leaves, toasted Walnuts, Garlic, Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Lemon.
Pulse a few times to break down the basil.
In a steady stream add Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, pulsing until olive oil is blended into other ingredients and mixture forms a loose paste.
Season with Freshly Cracked Black Pepper and Kosher Salt. Enjoy!
