soaked for at least 8 hours
1 stalk
Large  Scallions
1/2 cup
Fresh Cilantro , roughly chopped
1/2 cup
Fresh Parsley , firmly packed
3 cloves
Garlic , minced
or 1 tsk vitlökspulver
1 Tbsp
2 Tbsp
Chickpea Flour
1 tsp
Baking Powder
1 Tbsp
1/2 tsp
Chili Powder
(optional)

Author's Notes

Make sure to soak your dried chickpeas the night before! Using dried chickpeas gives your falafel a much creamier texture and helps them stay together. Makes around 20 falafel balls.

Cooking Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 390 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Step 2
Drain and rinse the soaked Dried Chickpeas (1 cup).
Step 3
Place soaked Chickpeas, Scallion (1 stalk), Fresh Cilantro (1/2 cup), Fresh Parsley (1/2 cup), Garlic (3 clove), Olive Oil (1 tablespoon), Chickpea Flour (2 tablespoon), Baking Powder (1 teaspoon), Lemon Juice (1 tablespoon), Chili Powder (1/2 teaspoon), and Salt (to taste) in a high-speed blender or food processor. Pulse until a crumbly dough forms.
Step 4
Scoop out 1 tablespoon at a time and form it into balls.
Step 5
Bake it in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges of the falafels are slightly golden.
Step 6
Serve it with some pita, salad greens, or alone as a snack - whatever you like!
