Bring Water (4 1/2 cup) to a light boil. Add Ground Turmeric (1 1/2 teaspoon) and Fresh Ginger (1 tablespoon), and let it boil again, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Simmering will extract the beneficial compounds from the turmeric and ginger.
Remove from the stove and let it cool a bit. Then strain the liquid using a mesh strainer or cloth to get rid of excess ginger.
Pour the rest of the liquid into a pitcher along with your Lemon Juice (1/4 cup), Lemon Extract (1 teaspoon) if using, and Raw Honey (2 tablespoon) and mix. Garnish with slices of Lemon (to taste) and Fresh Mint Leaves (to taste). Store in the fridge.
