Step 1
Rinse
Fresh Raspberries (1 cup)
and add them to a medium-sized pot over medium heat with the
Water (1/4 cup)
and
Granulated Sugar (1/4 cup)
.
Step 2
Allow to simmer for about 5 minutes uncovered, so the raspberry flavor has a chance to infuse into the simple syrup and the sugar is completely dissolved.
Step 3
Pour simple syrup into a glass through a sieve. Use a spatula to push down on the raspberries in the sieve, expressing as much raspberry juice as possible into the glass.
Step 4
Allow to cool down to room temperature before adding to your Sangria. It should yield just enough simple syrup for this recipe.
Step 5
Slice 1
Oranges (2)
in half and squeeze all of the juice from the orange into a tall pitcher. Slice your second orange into circular pieces, about 1/2-inch wide.
Step 6
Add the sliced orange and
Fresh Raspberries (1/2 cup)
to the pitcher with your orange juice. Use a muddler or wooden spoon to press down on the fruit, expressing some extra juice from the orange slices and raspberries.
Step 7
Add the raspberry simple syrup,
Triple Sec (1/4 cup)
, and
Dry Red Wine (3 cups)
to the pitcher and stir.
Step 8
Add
Ice (1/2 cup)
just before serving in your favorite wine glass.
