Author's Notes

When frying, I also like to cook the perimeter of the bread slice by standing it upright for about 2 minutes on each side, or until crispy.

If the tofu mixture is too watery, add 1 Tbsp of corn starch to thicken it up.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F (95 degrees C) to keep the bread slices warm.

Whenever you make the vegan egg dredging liquid ahead of time, you can even freeze it so you can defrost, dip and fry anytime a french toast craving hits.

In a high-speed blender, add Vegan Butter (2 Tbsp), Unsweetened Soy Milk (1/2 cup), Coconut Sugar (1 Tbsp), Medium Firm Tofu (1/2 cup), Nutritional Yeast (2 Tbsp), and Vanilla Extract (1/2 Tbsp).

Last, add Fine Ground Kala Namak Salt (1/4 tsp), blend until smooth and creamy. Transfer the mixture into a large shallow bowl.
