step 1
To make your own refried black beans start by sautéing Yellow Onion (1/2 cup) and Garlic (1 clove) in Extra-Virgin Olive Oil (1 Tbsp) until carmalized, and add in GOYA® Black Beans (2 1/3 cups) and mash away! I usually use the back of a spatula or a potato masher to get the job done.

step 2
When mashing the beans make sure to leave some of the beans whole. You will end up with a chunkier texture. Season with Salt (as needed) and Ground Black Pepper (as needed).

I like to top my refried beans with Sour Cream (to taste), Onions (to taste), and Fresh Cilantro (to taste). You can even sprinkle some Queso Fresco (to taste) on top. All are optional!
