Add Granulated Sugar (3 tablespoon) and Water (3 tablespoon) to a small saucepan and cook until sugar is dissolved. This usually takes about a minute on medium high heat. Take off heat and allow to cool.
Use lime and rim the glass. This gives the sugarssss or salt something to adhere to.
Dip your glass into either Salt (to taste) or Granulated Sugar (to taste).
Add Tequila (2 fluid ounce) and Lime Juice (3 fluid ounce) into a cocktail shaker or into a measuring cup. Add the simple syrup (water and sugar mixture).
Stir and pour over ice. Your margarita is ready to serve!
