Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). In a medium size bowl, mix the dry ingredients:
All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
Salt (1/2 tsp)
Baking Soda (1/2 Tbsp)
In a larger bowl, add the
Vegetable Shortening (1/2 cup)
Vegan Margarine (1/2 cup)
Granulated Sugar (1/2 cup)
Brown Sugar (1/2 cup)
Vanilla Extract (1 tsp)
Unsweetened Apple Sauce (1/4 cup)
together. Beat until everything is well mixed.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, and mix well. Once everything is mixed together, add the
Chocolate Chips (1/2 cup)
Chocolate Chunks (1/2 cup)
and give it a good swirl.
Using a spoon, measure out the batter and place on a baking pan. Bake the cookies for 9-12 minutes, or until the edges are browned and they’re cooked through.
Transfer to a towel to let them cool a bit before eating.
