Step 1
Peel the
Plantains (2)
and chop off the ends. Cut diagonally into 1 to 2-inch pieces.
Step 2
In a frying pan, warm
Canola Oil (as needed)
until it starts to bubble. Place plantains in the oil and cook for 30-45 seconds on each side, or until golden brown.
Step 3
Remove with slotted spoon and transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain the oil.
Step 4
Mash the plantain slices and return them to the oil. Cook for about 45 seconds on each side, or until crispy.
Step 5
Transfer finished plantain slices to a serving platter and sprinkle with
Salt (to taste)
and
Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
. Serve immediately and enjoy!
