Step 1
In a container, mix the
Water (2/3 cup)
,
Active Dry Yeast (1 tsp)
, and
Granulated Sugar (1 Tbsp)
. Mix and let sit for 10 minutes.
Step 2
After 10 minutes, add
Olive Oil (2 Tbsp)
and
Plain Yogurt (3 Tbsp)
to the yeast mixture. Stir together.
Step 3
In a large bowl with
All-Purpose Flour (2 cups)
, add
Salt (1 tsp)
and mix. Add the wet ingredients. Using a fork or spoon, mix the wet and dry together until the mixture is no longer wet. Bring together and knead the dough for about 3 minutes or until soft.
Step 4
Cover the dough with plastic and a kitchen towel and place somewhere warm for 2-4 hours to double in size.
Step 5
Place the dough on a floured surface with a bit of flour on top. Format into a big ball and split into six equal parts.
Step 6
Roll out each of the six dough pieces and cook each of the naan in a cast iron skillet for about a minute on each side.
Step 7
Add
Garlic (1 clove)
to the
Butter (2 Tbsp)
and brush it onto the naan. Serve as a side to a curry or as a delicious treat.
